Apparently ‘Jack The Ripper’ was not the only serial killer that the world has witness. While making this list, the notion of mistrust on people had reinforced itself on me. Take a look into this list of serial killers and see how it affects you.

The 10 Most Brutal Serial Killers Ever:
10. Ted Bundy (1946 –1989)
One of the most infamous serial killers in U.S. history; he raped and murdered around 30 young women across the country between 1974 and 1978.
Bundy would often approach his victims in broad daylight, gaining their trust in various ways, sometimes faking injury even wearing arm slings. He once pretended to be a policeman and another time, a fire department man.
Bundy confessed to have dumped the victim’s bodies at the Taylor Mountain where he often laid beside the corpses for hours. He often applied makeup on the corpses and had sex with the decomposing bodies until putrefaction set in. Bundy was executed in the Electric Chair on January 24, 1989. His last words were “I’d like you to give my love to my family and friends.”
9. John Haigh (1909-1949)
During the 1940s there was a serial killers in England called the “Acid Bath Murderer”. He confessed to have killed nine people and dissolved their bodies in sulphuric acid after which he would forge papers and sell the possessions of the victims to make money. He acted under the mistaken belief that police needed the body before they could bring a charge of murder on him.
In 1949 Detectives discovered Haigh’s involvement in theft and fraud. In the sludge of his workshop three human gallstones were found, as a consequence, he was convicted through forensic evidence and sent to the gallows on August 10, 1949.
8. Javed Iqbal Mughal (1956-2001)
One of the most infamous serial killers, Javed Iqbal was from Lahore, Pakistan. He had killed 100 boys within one and a half year. In 1999, Iqbal sent a letter to police and a Lahore newspapers claiming to have strangled and cut off the body parts of young boys and disposed them in vats of hydrochloric acid. Upon receiving the letter Lahore police had launched what was, at that time, the largest manhunt Pakistan had ever witnessed. Four of his accomplices – who were teenage boys themselves and shared Iqbal’s flat – were arrested.
Bloodstains were discovered on the walls and floors and the chain with which Iqbal had strangled his victims was also found; photographs of his victims were recovered from plastic bags along with a diary detailing his gruesome acts. Iqbal and his accomplices were found guilty and the judge passed the death sentence saying “You will be strangled to death in front of the parents whose children you killed, your body will then be cut into 100 pieces and put in acid, the same way you killed the children.”
7. Dennis Rader (Born 1945)
Rader was known for sending taunting letters to newspapers and the police. He was an American serial killers who had murdered at least 10 people. After killing his victims, Dennis Rader would write letter to police and news offices boasting about his crime. He is known as the BTK killer, which stands for Bind, Torture, Kill; apparently these were the rules he followed while committing the crime.
Dennis Rader was a stalker; he had stalked and made researches on a number of potential future victims before getting caught. He had a great fetish for women’s underwear and would steal underpants from his victims and wear it. Ironically Rader was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was even elected as its president.
Here is an extract from one of his letters: “I was go-ng to tape the boys and put plastics bag over there head like I did Joseph, and Shirley. And then hang the girl. God-oh God what a beautiful sexual relief that would been. Josephine, when I hung her really turn me on; her pleading for mercy then the rope took whole, she helpless; staring at me with wide terror fill eyes the rope getting tighter-tighter.” Currently he is in prison.
6. Richard Trenton Chase (1950-1980)
Richard Trenton Chase was responsible for killing 6 people within the span of a single month in California. Called ‘the Vampire of Sacramento’ due to his habit of drinking his victims’ blood, he also committed cannibalism & necrophilia(sex with corpse) on the victim’s bodies. During his childhood, Chase had suffered serious abuse from his mother. He grew up to be alcoholic and drugs addict. Since the age of 10 Chase had exhibited Macdonald triad (a very violent tendency of pyromania, enuresis, and zoosadism). His cannibalistic acts were a part of his delusion where he wanted to resist the Nazis from turning his blood into powder using a poison that he believed was planted beneath his soap dish.
He was found guilty and sentenced to death in the gas chamber. While waiting for his death day, Chase caused a lot of fear among the inmates who often tried to convince him to commit suicide. He eventually did commit suicide with an overdose of the doctor-prescribed antidepressants that he had been saving for over a few weeks.
5. Joachim Kroll (1933-1991)
Kroll was a German, notoriously known as the Ruhr Cannibal, and the Duisburg Man-Eater. He had confessed to have committed 13 murders, out of which he was convicted of 8. He started murdering after the death of his mother. He had raped and strangled women ranging from 5 years to 61 years old. And he was arrested while cooking the body parts of a 4 years old child named Marion Ketter.
Kroll had a typical method of pouncing on his surprised victims and then strangling them to death. After that he would strip the corpse and have sex or masturbate over it. He would cut off pieces of the flesh to be eaten later. Then on returning home, he would have intercourse again with a rubber sex doll he had bought specifically for this purpose.
When Marion Ketter went missing, the police went around the neighbourhood searching for her. A man living around that area told them something that gave the police a shiver. He said that the waste-pipe in his apartment building had blocked up and that when he asked his neighbour, Joachim Kroll, as to what was blocking the pipe, Kroll had simply replied; “Guts”. The police dashed to Kroll’s apartment and found him cooking Marion Ketter’s hand. He later said he killed to save on his grocery bills.
4. Andrei Chikatilo (1936)
Andrei Chikatilo was Ukrainian. Murdering 53 women and children between 1978 and 1990 gave him the nickname the Butcher of Rostov and ‘The Red Ripper.’ In 1978 he attempted to rape a 9 year old girl but the girl resisted so he stabbed her to death and in the process ejaculated. From then on in order to achieve sexual orgasm he stabbed and slashed women and children to death.
He was clever in choosing his victims. He mainly picked up prostitutes or homeless tramps and runaway children who could be easily lured with promises of alcohol or money. In the USSR during that time, reports on child rape and serial murder were not allowed to spread for such crimes were regarded to be common in only “hedonistic capitalist nations.”
In 1992, during the trial his behaviour forced the authorities to keep him in a cage at the centre of the courtroom. He was charged of committing 53 murders and was later executed by the firing squad.
3. Albert Fish (1870-1936)
Albert Fish had molested over 100 children, and was suspected to have killed at least 5. He came to be known as the Gray Man, the Werewolf of Wysteria and possibly the Brooklyn Vampire. Many psychiatrists had testified about Fish’s sexual fetishes which included coprophilia, urophilia, pedophilia and masochism. X-rays were made of Fish’s pelvis which showed traces of needles which he said he had inserted into his skin for deriving sexual pleasure.
He had, in a letter to his attorney, given graphic description of how he had cooked and eaten a victim, 4 years old Billy Gaffney:
“I put onions, carrots, turnips, celery, salt and pepper. It was good. Then I split the cheeks of his behind open, cut off his monkey and pee wees and washed them first. I put strips of bacon on each cheek of his behind and put them in the oven…… So the meat would be nice and juicy. In about 2 hours, it was nice and brown, cooked through. I never ate any roast turkey that tasted half as good as his sweet fat little behind did.”
2. Jeffrey Dahmer (1960-1994)
Dahmer had killed 17 people consisting of men and boys between 1978 and 1991. His murdering involving acts of sodomy, dismemberment, necrophilia, and cannibalism.
In 1991 this ghastly killer was uncovered and the gruesome inventory in his apartment quickly gained notoriety. The police found several corpses stored in acid-filled tubs, some severely injured heads were found in his refrigerator. Apparently Dahmer was trying to create ‘zombies’ out of them.
The dimension of his guilt and brutality was so shockingly great that he was sentenced to 15 life terms, totalling 937 years in prison. In November 1994, Dahmer was beaten to death by fellow inmate in the prison gym. Dahmer intense inhumanity has earned him a very long page in Wikipedia. 1. Gilles De Rais, (Circa 1404-1440)
Gilles de Rais, was a French nobleman and was also a military captain in St Joan of Arc’s army. He was charged with torturing, raping and murdering young children (mainly boys). Surviving accounts claims, Rais was a heartless paedophile who was attracted to blond haired and blue eyed boys. His killing processed in the following manner – First the boy would be pampered and dressed in beautiful expensive clothes than he had ever known. The evening would begin with a large meal and heavy drinking. Then the boy would be taken to an upper room where Rais and his immediate circle would be eagerly wait. They would then torture and mutilated the child, and rape him.
Rais was known to have often ejaculated over the dying victims. Most of the bodies were burned or buried, so the exact no of victims are not known but an official estimate puts them between 80 and 200. The children ranged somewhere ranged between 6 to 18 years of age and included both sexes (though boys very given more preference). In his own confession (after his crime was uncovered), Gilles testified that “when the said children were dead, he kissed them and those who had the most handsome limbs and heads he held up to admire them, and had their bodies cruelly cut open and took delight at the sight of their inner organs; and very often when the children were dying he sat on their stomachs and took pleasure in seeing them die and laughed”.
